Wiring was already in place. I just connected the positive from battery, the low level (RCA) inputs and the ground.The sub worked great first time. I then connected the remote level controller which was a breeze to install near the head unit. The controller works great also. There is a switch to have unit auto on/off with low level RCA's-- make sure you set the switch properly for this. The auto on/off works like a charm...Switch also lets you hook to separate 12v source. The separate gain/x-over/bass boost controls with large turn knobs are easily accessed from the front and make fine tuning a breeze. There is no need to find a small screwdrive and try to read small print on controls like most subs. The sound is no less than awesome and earth shattering if you spend a little time fine tuning. I'm glad I did. Great product for under $200.I installed mine in a 2007 VW Passat 4Mo. with factory Dynaudio upgrade. The upgraded system my car comes with is very nice and loud, with four bass speakers. But it was missing that sub woofer so I bought this. I was a little confused on how to install it at first not because of the product but because of my car's upgraded system. Once I figured out how to install it, it was a very easy installation. I was fortunate because in a 4Mo the battery is in the trunk. Speaking of trunk, you'll still have one after you put this product in it. One thing I noticed in researching this product it was very tough to find it's dimensions. So here they are.. R300-10 (HxWxD) 13.3" x 18.38" x 9.37" Sound: The sound is good out of this ten and it will rock your passengers.
