Great Speakers, This review is from: Ctx65cs - Image Dynamics 6.5" Component Speaker System (Electronics) I got these speakers about 3 years ago from a different site. At the time, I think they were $200, so they've gone down a little in price. Once I got them, I realized that they did not fit in my car. The woofers were too deep, which is normally an easy fix by getting spacers, but then the speakers stuck out from the doors too much. I ended up buying some kick panel pods to mount the woofer and tweeter in. I'm glad I did, they sound great there. Not as much midbass as when they are mounted in a door because the pods are open back, but they still are awesome. Compared to my studio monitors, which are meant to be extremely clear and accurate, these sound just as good or better.Definitely get these if you are in the market for component speakers. Make sure you have an amp, though. They won't sound nearly as good off of a head unit. Also make sure your doors can fit the mounting depth (2.75"). Otherwise, well worth it. I'm running these off headunit power - 15watts rms (amp on the way and will update again when that comes in) and they are louder and cleaner than my stock speakers in my explorer. I can hear details that I never knew were there. I did a lot of research when it came to what speakers I should get. For the $160 price range these seemed to be the best ones available. I've been told that unless I spend $200+ on a component set I wont get any better performance or sound quality than these.Of course it's recommended to deaden and seal the door to really get the best midrange and mid bass out of these. That's something ill do way later as I'm a broke college student.
