| 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful  600 Watts for this cheap?, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: MBQUART FX1.600 1 Channel Mono Block (Electronics) Amazon's description here is a little bit poor; this amp is rated at 600 watts RMS at 2-Ohms or 300 RMS at 4-ohms. *RMS* not some fantasy max wattage that would only happen if the amp was struck by lightning. Seriously, some manufacturers should be embarrassed even by their RMS ratings; 900 watts out of a BOSS amp that has a single 25-amp fuse? That is false advertising plain and simple.Anyway this amp has things I wouldn't even look for in an amp in this price range: adjustable subsonic filter, remote bass knob, and pre-amp outs(mono). The only downside is that is a Class AB so it larger and less efficient than a Class D amp, but at this power level it doesn't really matter. The upside of Class AB is that THD is < .1% --- Yes it is made by Maxxsonics, but there is a reason they are dominating the low-end; they aren't making absolute crap like every other manufacturer in that space(besides Audiopipe). Hifonics, Crunch, MB Quart are as good as it gets for the ~$100... Read more |
