And yes, it gets hot! I put this in my car and ended up using Velcro to stick it to the fuzzy trunk mat. I had nowhere to mount it. The trunk mat has about as much shag as your mouse pad, so it wasn't suffocating while sitting there. It does come with a fan, but that sucker still got hot. Too hot to touch. It got to the point where the car would smell burnt. I couldn't imagine throwing this on the carpet under the seat (might be good in winter) or behind a panel with no air circulation.
But, it's a 4x80 and 1x350 Watt amp and it will cause the neighbors to hate you after a few days. The power was good/loud and the distortion was low. I put 4 Polk 6.5 and a Polk 8 sub on it. Had it connected via a AudioControl - LC6i - Line Output Converter and even had that turned down some.
Conclusion: loved the power, hated the heat.
