It produces good sounding bass in a small space. They won't win you any SPL competitions, but it does sound good and the price is decent. I liked them better than the Kicker and MTX products. The sub was to be mounted in the console under the dash and needed to clear less than 5" of depth, be 10" to fit the enclosure, and 2 Ohms to maximize my amp's power output. That narrowed my subwoofer choices considerably and ruled out the aforementioned Stealthboxes because JL Audio does not offer a 2 Ohm version for my vehicle. I have had this sub in my Tahoe for about a month now. I had my doubts about the ability of a shallow mount subwoofer to perform well. I used to replace the 10" JL w1 in my stealthbox. Major improvement of the JL, with 300 watts going to it at 2 ohms. I have had 2 other shallow mount subs, that I was not happy with, so I was skeptical. The low frequencies rival some full size subs. |
