The install was fairly easy but you have to consider I had the tools to do this. The power cable that came with this was a little short so I purchased an additional 10ft of braided 16/2 insulated wire to get me the rest of the way to the battery. Outside of the short cable and where to mount this, it was a very easy install. I initially ran the sound through the Stereo system but found that I could listen to the radio so I purchase some Clarion IR Headphones that work great now I am ready to hit the road. I would recommend this to anyone who has the time, patients, and correct tools. You will also have to have some guts to install on your significants brand new car, putting a hole in my wifes new van, Yes I was sweating a little. The disappointing part was that after receiving the unit, paying 200.00 to custom install in a Toyota Sienna, the DVD Player failed to play DVD's in less than a month. Even do the unit was under warranty and I could have retuned it for an exchange, I would have lost the install money. My 2 cents, the unit is Ok but the DVD is rubbish, also, the seller could have done more in my opinion to cover their product a little better or to cover the buyer, because have I sent the unit back,not only would i have lost my install money, I would have had to pay for shipping charges out of my own pocket as well, I can at least use a USB or memory card to watch videos but the DVD... I installed this product in a Chevy Suburban. Found a video on youtube [...] to help with install. The DVD player and picture quality as well as the sound going through vehicle stereo is very good. The instruction manual is basic and the website doesn't have a FAQ section that I could find. I've had problems using the SD card and USB ports to load and watch movies. I've found that the only format that has worked to this point has been DivX (avi file)on a 16 gig 2.0 flash drive.When I bought this product, I hoped that I could connect a external USB hard drive but I can't get this unit to recognize it. Only the USB thumb (flash) drive. If the USB connection worked with the external hard drive, I would rate this product with 5 stars because the picture quality is very good. |
